Scott Stapp is a very important figure in our personal mythos of our band. During our first ‘practice’, if I recall correctly, our original guitarist Alex and I passed the time watching youtube videos of Scott’s provocatively butchered National Anthem at the Nascar track, and also his odd rendition of a Marlins theme-song superimposed on an old Creed chord structure. I’ve heard previously that Scott had made an unsuccessful bid to author a more contemporary official Marlins lyrical theme, but that is neither here nor there. I even believe our band made a slight (drunken?) pass at learning Scott Stapp’s pro-Marlins song long ago.  Things have evolved since then, yet all bands long for their origins, yes?
