Lucius and You Won’t Warm Hearts At The Sinclair (12/5)

You Won’t opened up for Lucius at the Sinclair last Thursday evening. Punk-country guitar and drums filled the huge stage, and (take note) any band that drops an in-song Back To The Future reference gets an automatic recommendation from me. Their songs and banter were goofy and self-aware. I don’t know if it was what I would call bashful, but it was never cocky, although the show did take some considerable confidence.

Nervous, Hex Map, Crinkle Face, and Lady Bones Break the Monday Blues (TT the Bear’s Place 12/2)

Some Mondays drag along until your entire being is tired and falling apart, but if you make it through the workday, there’s often a fun show to attend in the city. This past Monday was no exception with the lineup put together by Park Slug of Nervous, Hex Map, Crinkle Face, and Lady Bones at TT the Bear’s.

Kevin Devine & the Goddamn Band Bring Their Goddamn Charm to Allston (BMH 11/24)

Whether you enjoy Kevin Devine’s music or not, there are a few things you can’t deny: he’s adorable, has endless amounts of energy, and has the most passionate fan base. The best of his fans came out to Brighton Music Hall Sunday the 24th to Pants Off Dance Off for the “best Kevin Devine tour ever” as quoted by Devine himself.

Lissie Channels Drake (Royale 11/22)

Lissie Maurus, who rocks out under the single stage name Lissie, hit the Royale on Tremont Street for one of their early Friday night gigs – doors at 6 pm, opener at 7, headliner at 8 and everyone out the door by 9:45, so the Royale can transform itself back into a late-night discotheque.
