New Tunes and Tour from Babydriver

Babydriver Palisades

We’ve got some fresh tracks from local group Babydriver.

Babydriver first greeted us with their mellow, poppy tunes that adeptly blend traditions from world, psychadelic and indie music back in 2011. We hadn’t heard much from them since 2011’s Sad Solider Red, but in 2014 we were delighted by Fugitive Waltz. That LP’s title track even made it’s way onto the October edition of our Localz Only Mixtape.

Luckily for us, we won’t have to wait another three years for a new release, as it looks like there’s a new album on the horizon.

Let All the Sun In is scheduled for a release during the late summer/early fall of 2015. And, to give you a sense of what’s to come, Allston Pudding found a SoundCloud link with three tracks off the upcoming release. Check out “I Don’t Want to Be Your Dad,” “Holla Fame,” and “Chili Tonite” by way of this here link.

If you happen to be in Brooklyn this evening, then you can head down to Palisades to catch the first set of Babydriver’s month long tour. For those of us in Boston, we can expect to see the band perform towards the end of the month at Zuzu on June 29th, then at Charlie’s Kitchen on July 13th, and the final tour of the show at the Paramount Center on July 24th.
