Every once in a while there’s a bill that makes you say, “Oh okay I can fuck with this.” That is this show on Tuesday December 22nd with People Like You, Kississippi, Perspective, A Lovely Hand to Hold, Strange Mangers and Du Vide at the Middle East Upstairs presented by homies Coach & Sons Olde Time Family Booking and Show Mom Collective.

People Like You plays some of the most beautiful chamber pop to come out of Boston since… ever? Their live show isn’t to be missed, and this could be one of the last few times you see them in a venue this small thanks to a helpful opening gig for The World Is… recently.

Upon first glance at Kississippi, the punderful name sticks out, and a quick look at their Bandcamp page shows off their sense of humor instantly. You can purchase their album for $666 or more. But don’t let the Satanic forces confuse you, Kississippi plays beautiful pop tunes steered by Zoë Allaire Reynolds’ twee-tinged vocals and supported by Colin James Kupson. History says the duo came together after meeting through Tinder. This is probably the best Tinder outcome I have heard yet to date.

Perspective, A Lovely Hand to Hold brings angular guitars and mathy vibes from Nashua, NH. Straight up fun “Math rock/emo/indie/whatever your mom calls it band,” as stated on their Facebook, should start the crowd popping off mid show.

You know Strange Mangers. They are those dudes you see at every show having the time of their lives haha join the club buddy. With their instruments they create a dreamscape filled with guitar tones you have stuck in your head for days.

Du Vide was featured on our most recent mixtape and for good reason. They are one of the freshest sounding bands to hop on the scene recently and always put on a great show. More dream vibes are propelled by Alex Fatato’s soaring guitars and Conor Oberst croons and grounded by Harrison Smith on bass and Thatcher May on drums. Come early and don’t miss their set like a dingus.
