Read Amanda Palmer’s “A Poem For Dzhokhar” If You Really Want To

strange-amanda-palmer-

There are definitely pot-stirrers in this world and Amanda Palmer loves being one of them. The frontwoman of Dresden Dolls has always taken measures to rub people the wrong way, which some consider an art form, and other consider just some good old trolling. Yesterday, she published a poem on her blog called “A Poem For Dzhokhar,” which seems to empathize with 19-year marathon bomber Dzokhar Tsarnaev. I don’t really need to waste more of everyone’s time reacting to this, so if you want to read the full thing, check out her blog at the Amanda Fucking Palmer (yes, that’s the title) website. Here’s a short excerpt:

you don’t know how to believe anyone anymore.

you don’t know how to tell the girl in the chair next to you that you’ve been peeking at her dissertation draft and there’s a grammatical typo in the actual file name.

you don’t know how to explain yourself.

you don’t want two percent but it’s all they have.

you don’t know how claustrophobic your house is until you can’t leave it.

you don’t know why you let that guy go without shooting him dead and stuffing him in some bushes between cambridge and watertown.
