Watch A Video of Mail the Horse at Thing In The Spring

Mail the Horse at The Thing in the Spring 2013 from Pony Problems Productions on Vimeo.

Allston Pudding is pleased to present a series of videos captured live from this year’s Thing in the Spring in Peterborough, New Hampshire. These videos come to us from the newly established Pony Problems Productions, a video production house launched from the Western Mass-based record label TinyRadars.

While most of the bands we have featured to this point are typically loud and kind of aggro, Brooklyn’s Mail The Horse are right at home in the acoustic setting. Much of what makes up their handful of releases are strummy tales that range from Sea Change era Beck to seventies alt-country gold. In this particular take, harmony reigns king and they fill out an intimate pavilion space with rich vocal warmth. Mail The Horse are a splendid change of pace both for this festival series and within the independent music scene of the Northeast. While many of their counterparts live for loud volumes, Mail The Horse have a different idea of quality, but still reach a similar audience. Take a peek at this video and you’ll see why.
