Sagittarius (Ruling Planet: Jupiter; Element: Fire) Sagittarians are crazy fun, and wild. You’re a generous friend, and always try to be straightforward. The Archer is an intellectual, passionate about philosophy and travel. But with this passionate energy, and your constant need for independence, comes a carelessness typical of most fire signs. While Mercury, the planet of communication, dwells in watery Pisces on the 5th, you should be able to better understand your emotions in situations past and present, and may easily express these emotions. When the planet of love, Venus, shifts into Pisces on the 12th, you’ll seek the same intuitive qualities in any romantic partners, and will yearn to feel supported by your loved ones. With Mars in Sagittarius on the 5th, the planet of action will encourage you to use any spike in mental energy to start something you’re genuinely excited about. This could be a project you’ll be working on for the next year or more, and you won’t want to start it next month. Trust me. Later in the month, the Sun and Mercury cross into fellow fiery Aries. Use the time around the 19th through the 21st creatively— tell stories, make jokes, have fun; this mindset will keep you focused. Saturn turns retrograde on the 25th, though, and you may find yourself feeling sluggish and careless. It’s ok to cut yourself some slack this time. But don’t forget about the first two eclipses of 2016! March 8th, a solar eclipse in Pisces will occur in your home/family sector. The 23rd marks a lunar eclipse in Libra, and if you’ve been taking the time to mull it over, any ideas about your destiny, dreams and place in the world will become unclouded within the next 6 months.

With all this Piscean intuition floating around, and the eclipses’ focus on the home, a couple throwback tunes seem in order. One of the most nostalgic albums ever created, Iron & Wine’s Our Endless Numbered Days, couldn’t ever be a bad choice. If you’re looking for something a little more recent, Paradise by Lana del Rey is a sure bet. More recent yet, one of Frankie Cosmos’s 2014 albums, Zentropy, could be just the sentimental bedroom pop to satisfy your empathic little heart this month.
