If you visit Allston Pudding frequently, it should come as no surprise that we love Meat Wave. The Chicago lo-fi punk trio make the kind of furious, melodic, drum-busting rock that’s hard to keep up with while you’re drumming on your steering wheel. Now, riding on the release of their first ever music video, Meat Wave have announced a brand new EP due out next year.
The EP, titled Brother, includes the previously released “Brother” and “It’s Not Alright” off their self-titled LP alongside five new tracks. It drops January 19 on Brace Yourself Records. Head over to Noisey to stream the first half of the EP in full, including said two tracks and “Sham King”. Considering they were one of our “Non-Boston Bands You Need to Know” from CMJ, skipping over this would be doing yourself a disservice. Git on it.
