Say It IS So: Hometown jack of all trades, Brian Marquis has a new EP just in time for the summer. So now that classes are over and the sun is shining brightly, take take a trip down memory lane and hear some classic 90’s anthems in a new way.
Marquis’ album, “I Miss the 90’s,” features guests/friends on every song: There’s Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am the Avalanche) on vocals, Will Noon (fun., Straylight Run) on drums, Julio Tavarez (The Black and The White, As Tall As Lions) on bass, and Doug Grean (Scott Weiland, The Terpsichords) on piano/keyboards.
Marquis is the former guitarist of the Boston-based post-hardcore outfit Therefore I Am, and is now a solo artist with Equal Vision Records. If you’ve somehow found yourself stranded at Warped Tour during the past 4 years, I hope you found refuge at the Acoustic Basement, a chill tented stage started by Marquis, featuring some punk rock artists with a softer side for intimate acoustic gigs. If you find yourself stuck at Warped Tour in the future, definitely check out this oasis, because Marquis will be there again this year, playing these cover songs, as well as songs from his debut full-length, Blood & Spirits.
You can listen to the premiere of his nostalgic EP “I Miss the 90’s” right here, right now on Allston Pudding!
