Local trio Zip-Tie Handcuffs have a new video out today for their track “Book Worm” off of December’s LP In The Sky. The video, which features bearded men eating paper and trippy oilscapes, is a perfect fit for the tune– a furious punk romp with a spacey, psychedelic sheen. Zip-Tie Handcuffs were recently featured on […]
Yesterday was the big launch day for Bandframe.com, a new online home for bands, created by 3 Berklee grads. The site has a clean, magazine-style layout, and allows bands, artists, programs, and more to customize their own web space in a matter of minutes. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lil’ Ri Ri as much as the next dude, but apparently her show last night at TD Banknorth Garden did not go so hot. I’m sure the last thing anyone is focused on right now is the fall, but here’s one good thing to look forward to. South Carolina’s Toro Y Moi is touring the US in support of his most recent, Anything In Return and is hitting Boston along the way. Always a fun live experience, it seems […]
Boston guitar-vocal duo Badknight create perfect Spring music. The angelic vocals of Emily Lenae welcome the flowers’ bloom, while the vibrant finger-picking of Devin McKnight produces an invigorating breeze; The two forces together creating an eclectic change of pace for any optimist on their way out of hibernation. The band’s new full-length, Blue Blanket, drops […]
Local quartet Pretty & Nice have had quite the week. Their new album Golden Rules for Golden People dropped last Tuesday, along with a release show at Great Scott, and a set last night at Boston’s Benefest. To me, the band sounds tighter than ever, and their new material translates perfectly live. The tunes from Golden Rules are fixin’
