Wtf it means:
Intuitive Pisces ultra present this March, as the Sun, Mercury, Venus and a solar moon occur in the sign. Mercury rules communication, and this planet in Pisces means an interest in the perspective of others, new information, and making plans for your future. Venus under the Piscean influence will, yes, up the romance factor; but it will also magnify our general love for beauty, art, creativity, and compassion. The solar eclipse in Pisces on March 8th will be more impactful than a new moon might, but they have similar effects, both working in an ~energetic portal~ kind of way. We’ll all have to get used to doing things the Piscean way— trusting your intuition, as far as balancing your duties and independence goes. This eclipse will also have us embracing our sense of empathy, opting for a more gentle, helpful approach when working with others. Meanwhile, Mars is really at home in Sagittarius, and we could harness the fearless energy of the planet of action in this position. The Sun enters Aries, the first sign on the zodiac, and marks the Spring Equinox, a new astrological year, and a time for new journeys. When Mercury transitions from poetic Pisces to assertive Aries, we’ll find ourselves expressing our thoughts more impulsively and innovatively. The second eclipse of the month is lunar, and a little more passive. Over the past three years, all of us have been in major flux concerning our ways of thinking about commitment and fairness. This struggle will come to a close at the end of the month.Saturn turning retrograde in airy Libra will slow everyone down, this month. This planet rules boundaries and structure, and when in retrograde, it can can make us feel more insecure about what’s expected of us. You may find yourself saying “Yes” when you should say “No.” Watch out for that through August.

Aries
Aries (Ruling Planet: Mars; Element: Fire) If you’re a typical Aries, you’re a risk-taker. You’re a fire sign, so you’re adventurous, brave, and lively— all traits that attract others to the Ram, although most find it hard to keep up. You’re always down to try new things. You impulsively take up a new projects, and yet still find the time to be passionate about them. However, Aries, you can be quite arrogant, thinking that you know everything, and you tend to be insensitive, impatient and stubborn, even to the point of being confrontational. Your motto is, “Act first, ask questions later.”
The snow might be melted come March, but you’ll stay particularly cold around the beginning of the month. You’ll feel a need for some personal freedom as the 5th rolls around, marking the entrance of your ruling planet, Mars, into Sagittarius. This fire sign will fuel your desire to travel and explore any kind of possibility that could await you, and it’s a particularly good time for learning and going to new places— but do it alone. Mercury in Pisces on the same day will keep you chilly this month, as far as sharing your thoughts and being around people goes. A solar eclipse in Pisces on the 8th will be an opportunity to let go of anything unnecessary in your life. And with the planet of love, Venus, entering Pisces on March 12th, you’ll keep enjoying your alone time, and only show affection behind closed doors. Socially, you may find yourself exhausted, but it may also be a great time for working creatively, using your imagination, and finding opportunities in unexpected places. Wait until the 19th when the Sun enters your sign to step up and share any thoughts or opinions. Mercury in Aries on the 21st will only push you out of your shell. The lunar eclipse in Libra on March 23rd signals a closing to a chapter in your life, and it might feel especially fitting if you’ve been trying to salvage and solidify certain relationships over the past couple years. Lastly in this jam-packed month for the planets, Saturn turns retrograde on March 25th, which will stall any hope for spontaneous pursuits or adventures on the next 6 months. Sorry, Aries, but you may have to do the unthinkable— plan.
Your March Trax:
Sounds like you need a little something to keep you going this month, and that something could be 2008’s urgent and vulnerable Midnight Organ Fight from Frightened Rabbit. Similarly insistent, the The Devil, Death, and Me by Run Forever, from Pittsburgh, fricken rips, and could serve you some much-needed motivation and inspiration while Pisces is so present. And as the Sun and Mercury enter your sign, something like Fake Boyfriend's new, uncompromising EP, called Mercy, could be just the thing to encourage some boundary pushing.
Dates to watch: 18th, 19th, 20th

Taurus
Taurus (Ruling Planet: Venus; Element: Earth) The textbook Taurus is generous, dependable, and down to earth. Persistence and patience are key virtues to a Taurus, thus, you rarely encounter failure. But change is hard for you. Although you generally have an easy going attitude, you are stubborn and demanding when you are being rushed or pressured. Also known for being self-indulgent and lazy, you tend to all-too-easily ignore others’ emotions. It’s also easy for you to become materialistic and possessive, and often jealousy is a common downfall for the Bull.
Mercury, ruler of communication, enters Pisces, and Mars, the planet of action, is in Sagittarius on March 5th. For you, that means working well with the perspective of friends, and thriving while working in a group. Also, you’ll benefit from the solar eclipse in Pisces on March 8th if you step outside your comfort zone, and go for something a little more risky or unconventional. With Venus also in Pisces on March 12th, you’ll benefit from deepening your connections with friends and building those foundations. If in a relationship, try something new with your partner 😉 Welcome the Sun and Mercury in Aries on the 19th and 21st respectively. Overall, Aries, the sign before yours, will have you feeling kinda tired, kinda emo and just wanting to be alone. You could do some of your best thinking during this time, though. Two days later, we have our second eclipse of the year, with a lunar eclipse in Libra. This is an excellent time to decide on things, especially concerning your body, your health, and regulating your day-to-day. Lastly, Saturn turns retrograde, which will mess with our capacity to set limits and expectations, so this might mean putting more work into the things you need to get done. Good luck with that.
Your March Trax:
Pisces’ presence will have you feelin’ friendly and social at the start of the month. If you're tryna completely resist that, here’s some solo stuff you should listen to: Angel Olsen’s Burn Your Fire For No Witness, and then, if you like that, July by Boston-based artist Marissa Nadler. And don’t miss her super recent single. On the other hand, if you need something a lil noisier, a lil’ pop punkier, it could be Sorority Noise (due for a nice new EP next month). Go with last summer’s release Joy, Departed. Alternatively, you could use a source of motivation as Aries rolls around. Maybe give bigger ensemble acts like Rubblebucket or locals Bent Knee a chance?
Dates to watch: 20th, 21st
Your events: The Motorleague, Safety, Cold Collective, Bottlecaps @ O'Briens, March 20th

Gemini
Gemini (Ruling Planet: Mercury; Element: Air) Out of all the signs, you, Gemini, are the most communicative, on top of being the most clever. The Twins are flexible; you can adjust to any situation. Your enthusiasm for a variety of subjects makes you versatile and charming, but it’s hard for you to stay dedicated to one thing for a long time, and you tend to bite off more than you can chew. You suffer from constant FOMO, and you can’t make a decision to save your life.
In the beginning of March, with Mercury entering Pisces on March 5th, you should just focus on staying focused. Gather advice and set your long-term goals while the planet of communication is in this position. Mars will be in Sagittarius (the sign opposite yours) on the same day, and you’ll feel your best when there’s someone by your side during this time. March 8th will see a solar eclipse in Pisces. Solar eclipses generally impact the 6 months before and after the event, so you’re smack dab in the middle of this good energy. This moment is the opportune time to take things to the next level, professionally, and if you make responsible choices, you may see a long-awaited victory. Luckily for you, Venus joins Mercury in Pisces on the 12th, and this can only fuel your drive to achieve this victory. The planet of love in this position may draw you to an older, mature someone. Don’t be afraid to get advice from anyone you might find inspirational at this moment. March 19th thru the 21st we’ll see the Sun and Mercury entering Aries, giving you the fiery, inventive energy that you should use to think about your future, collaborate with friends, and step outside your comfort zone. The lunar eclipse only a few days later on the 23rd occurs in another air sign, Libra. This energy, for you, surrounds your love life in particular. You’ve probably been trying to change big aspects of your romantic relationships, involving letting people go and working to let more love into your life. If so, you’re on the right track. If not, use this lunar energy to make love a positive experience in every aspect of your life, especially as Saturn turns retrograde for the next 5 months, and tries to create issues in dealing with your relationships, personal and professional.
Your March Trax:
Perhaps to inspire seeking guidance from your elders, or at least someone more on the mature side, I’m gonna recommend some relevant rock. There’s a Toronto band called Greys, who make some sick, grungy, math rock. Clair Morgan are more indie; Bat House, from Boston, are more psychedelic-- both good music to hear while setting goals this month.
Dates to watch: 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th:
Your events: Girls Rock Campaign Bands: Ursula, Gravel, Gay Sin @ Middle East Up, March 23rd
Hunter Valentine "So Long For Now" Tour, Unstraight, Viva Gina, Carissa Johnson, Flight of Fire @ Middle East Down, March 24th
Ancient Filth, Piss Dogs, Heartbreaker @ The Democracy Center, March 25th
Cancer
Cancer (Ruling Planet: Moon; Element: Water) Everyone says you’re overly emotional, Cancer. And it’s true. But your emotions also fuel every aspect of your otherwise creative, intuitive, spontaneous, loving and protective personality. And you are generally a faithful friend, Moonchild. You motivate and persuade others easily. But the Crab is moody and unbalanced. You fluctuate between clingy and icy, depending on your mood and how pessimistic you’re feeling that day.
There’s a lot of activity in fellow water sign, Pisces, this month, and this will be the a perfect time to enthusiastically use your imagination, come up with big ideas, and share inspiring, funny stories. Mercury, the ruler of communication, entering Pisces on March 5th will fuel this way of thinking, while Mars in Sagittarius on the same day gives you the energy to complete the small tasks you might’ve forgotten about last month. These little projects will be easier to complete if you make lists, establish a routine, and keep track of your responsibilities, you busy little worker bee, you!The solar eclipse in Pisces only a few days later (March 8th), and this is the most opportune time to embrace new experiences, risk-taking, traveling, and learning. These things will bring you a lighter heart and a little joy, especially during the energy of a solar eclipse.
Venus joining Mercury in Pisces on March 12th, encourages this passionate, bold version of you, though the planet of love in this location may have you less clingy with any romantic partners, but still as passionate. You’re a water sign after all.The Sun and Mercury delve into Aries on the 19th and 21st, and this bring rewards (if you’ve been responsible and hardworking, especially in the last 6-9 months), and will urge you to plan for your future. The second eclipse of the month, on March 23rd in Libra, will mark the end of some of the familial issues you’ve been dealing with in the last couple of years. This is your chance to move on and up, and make peace with some of the bad memories you associate with whatever “home” or “family” means to you. Don’t let Saturn retrograde on the 25th stall any of your hard work and progress.
Your March Trax:
To match Pisces’ enthusiastic influence on you this month, try listening to storytellers à la Kate Nash (yas Made of Bricks is so great, but Girl Talk is equally insistent). If you need to go a little sleepier, Lisa Hannigan’s album Passenger is perfect in every sense, plus she’s playing Boston Calling in May. And if you never listened to Laura Marling’s 2015 album, Short Movie, don’t worry; you still have time and plenty of opportunities, according to the stars.
Dates to watch: 26th, 27th
Your events: Sun Young, JOBS, If Not I Than Who Then (VT), Birthing Hips @ Deep Thoughts, March 26th
David Wax Museum, Darlingside, Haroula Rose @ The Sinclair, March 26th

Leo
Leo (Ruling Planet: Sun; Element: Fire) Another energetic fire sign, you are known for your headstrong pride and dominating ego. But the Lion can also be quite affectionate, not to mention a loyal friend who demands the loyalty in return. In fact, you demand a lot of things. You can be impatient and arrogant when others won’t alter their opinions at your request, but are sensitive to anything that could wound your ego. You like to talk big game, Leo, but more often than not, you go home crying.
It’s such a serious time for you, with several positions in Pisces this month. These planetary shifts start on March 5th, when Mercury enters the sign, and demands your attention to thoroughly researching anything that interests you. Venus in Pisces a couple days later (March 12th) will have you wanting to take any romantic relationships from superficial to serious. You’ll most likely be looking for commitment and an intense attraction in any new partners. However, the planet that rules action-making will move into fellow fire sign Sagittarius on the 5th, and settling down might prove to be a bit difficult at this time. The planet Mars will have you focused on bringing love into your life, and you’ll be interested in giving, accepting, sharing, and spicing up this love. You’ll want to make romance fun again, and if single, you’ll want to sow your oats before taking on any serious commitments. But let’s not forget about the first two eclipses of 2016. You can benefit from the solar eclipse that occurs in Pisces on March 8th if you take that time to share your resources and talents. You’ll feel good if you feel in control, so don’t be afraid to take the bull by the horns when thinking about transforming any part of your life. Just do it; the stars are in your favor. The lunar eclipse on March 23rd marks a conclusion of something, in the realm of self-expression and control over your identity, as this will be the last lunar eclipse in Libra for a while. If you haven’t been working on better expressing yourself, the energy of the lunar eclipse will be around for at least 6 months. Start now. On March 19th the Sun will welcome Aries, and Mercury crosses into the fellow fire sign just 2 days later. The position of these planets will supercharge your adventurous energy, and you’ll want to use this energy to help you feel more independent. Doing some traveling or learning a new language could be just the experience you’re craving toward the end of the month. When Saturn turns retrograde on March 25th, your inspiration could stall, and you’ll have to force yourself to be more responsible, especially concerning your loved ones. Don’t neglect them while Saturn is in this Sagittarius position through August.
Your March Trax:
If you’re doing a little thinking about your future and identity this month, there are a few albums that’ll make the perfect soundtrack for this. Solid albums about sense of self include, of course, confessional Cerulean Salt by Waxahatchee, the 2016, politically charged Polica album, and a record called Still Water’s strong but delicate sound (by Told Slant). If none of those records do it for you, see if Sprinter by Torres stirs anything in you.

Virgo
Virgo (Ruling Planet: Mercury; Element: Earth) You’re a natural problem solver, Virgo, and you are extremely practical. Your intelligence, trustworthiness, and attention to detail usually make you the best person for the job. You’re adaptable, for an Earth sign. You’re also analytical, sometimes to a fault. You can be overly critical and a harsh perfectionist, but only because you’re afraid of exposing your own vulnerabilities.
The planets are scattered throughout Pisces this month— your opposite in the zodiac. For you, this means as Mercury enters the water sign on March 5th, you’ll feel most comfortable in 1-on-1 settings, where you can compare ideas and work on compromising, negotiating, and keeping the harmony. Especially as Mars is in Sagittarius on the same day, it’ll feel more important for you to feel comfortable and balanced. Take this time to make sure your support system is intact. Venus, the love ruler, also enters Pisces just a few days later on March 12th, and any romantic relationships will require this commitment building around this time. But let’s not overlook two very important happenings this month- the first eclipses of 2016. The solar eclipse in Pisces on March 8th will be especially relevant for you, as it triggers your relationship sector. It’s the opportune time to start or improve relationships, personal and professional. If you’re not ~involved~ with anyone romantic (and want to be), use the energy from this eclipse to really pursue someone. If you support all your loved ones during this time, the balance in your life will come back two-fold. Later in the month, on March 23rd, we’ll see the first lunar eclipse of 2016, and the last lunar eclipse in Libra for some time. This one’s all about working on your self-esteem and self-confidence. If you haven’t been actively working on your sense of self in the last year, start now. This lunar energy will secure a better path in the realm of your personal identity. Just don’t let Saturn in retrograde on the 25th convolute things— listen to your feelings, and self-advocate.
Your March Trax:
To nurture your sense of balance this month, seamlessly harmonious acts fit this month’s recs quite nicely. A list of harmonious music without a Simon and Garfunkel reference wouldn’t be right, so just listen to Wednesday Morning 3 A.M already. 2009’s Gorilla Manor from Local natives is also a classic, in a more nuanced sense. Something a little more cool and punk and ~rad~ could be Girlpool’s Before the World Was Big. Now just let the 1-on-1 inspiration flow over you.
Dates to watch: 3rd, 4th, 20th, 31st
Your events: Black Beach (LP Release Show) / Dent / Steep Leans / The Mardi Kings, March 3rd

Tobacco and Lord Raja @ Brighton Music Hall, March 31st
Libra
Libra (Ruling Planet: Venus; Element: Air) You, Libra, are the charming, tactful one. You have a magnetism about you. Socially, you are gifted. You can talk your way out of anything, and justice is a valued virtue to The Scales. But like most air signs, you can become detached and unreliable. You’re so indecisive sometimes that, more often than not, you bail completely, and you don’t do well with confrontation.
There’s a plethora of planets and stars touring through Pisces this month, and all this water is sure to make any routines or plans you make go swimmingly. Especially during the first half of the month, when Mercury and Venus enter the water sign (on March 5th & 12th, respectively), details, organization, and smaller tasks will feel like easier things on which to focus. You’ll benefit from doing things on a daily basis. In love, you’ll crave practicality, and a partner who pays attention to all the little things. With Mars’ position in Sagittarius starting on the 5th, any thoughts and information will be easier to share, but be sure not to overshare. When Mercury leaves Pisces and enters Aries on the 21st, however, this communicative energy will be best used while negotiating, compromising, and being considerate. And with our Sun in Aries (your opposite on the zodiac) at this time too, you’ll be wanting an equal with which to share this harmonious energy. Ok but let’s not overlook the first set of eclipses this year. First, on March 8th, a solar eclipse in Pisces occurs in your work sector— good energy for creating a comfortable workplace. If you need a change in your work life, take this opportunity to do it. The solar happening also touches on your health sector, which may just prompt a health kick within the next 6 months. Later, a lunar eclipse in your sign (1 of 3 in the last couple years), will be the last lunar eclipse to occur in Libra for some time. This one’s all about processing and eliminating any negative emotions, and moving onto the next chapter. Just be sure not to let Saturn in retrograde muck up your sense of balance and control.
Your March Trax:
With that upcoming healthkick in mind, you should probably listen to Anti-- it’s explosive, maybe just explosive enough to get your physical form in ~motion~. If you can’t stand Rihanna-- first of all, how?! Secondly, Madonna’s always here for you. And if you can’t stand Madonna’s music, there’s no hope for you. There is, though, the super experimental rock reccomend: Battles 2015 record, La Di Da Di. And for something completely different, listen to this sick metal song by The Sword.
Dates to watch: 5th, 6th, 7th

Major Stars, RANGDA, New Pope @ Out Of The Blue Too, March 5th
Soft Fangs, Brittle Brian, Stumpf, Lady Pills @ Middle East Up, March 5th

Scorpio
Scorpio (Ruling Planet: Pluto; Element: Water) Scorpios are truly a mixed bag. You can be passionate, but resentful. You can be ambitious and determined, but manipulative in the process. And although the Scorpion is one the most faithful of the signs, you struggle with trust and possessiveness, with forgiving and forgetting. However, Scorpio, you are still indeed a true water sign— sensitive and intuitive. And your emotional strength is what sets you apart from every other sign.
With Mercury, Venus, the Sun, and a solar eclipse in Pisces during the first half of the month, it’s going to get wet and watery, and the little details might start to slip your mind... But it doesn't have to be that way. While you might have trouble focusing, Pisces will also prompt your creativity, and you could appear more theatrical and charming around the 5th. When the planet of love shifts on the 12th, and the solar eclipse occurs in your love sector on the 8th, you’ll feel extra romantic, of course, but also extra fun and you might come off as more heartfelt. Use this time to play the field, as they say; it’ll be easier now to meet and charm new people. Financially, Mars in fiery Sagittarius at the start of the month will have you feeling more confident in yourself, and you should take your time with any decisions, but also treat yourself; You’ve earned it. As the weather (hopefully) heats up later in the month, so will the stars— the Sun crosses into fire sign Aries on the 19th, and Mercury leaves Pisces / enters Aries on the 21st. The Sun and Mercury in this position will help you git shit done toward the end of the month, and you’ll feel good about being efficient, organized and physically healthy around this time. Later, a lunar eclipse in Libra on the 23rd will mark the conclusion of dealing with issues from your past. Either you weren’t clear on some difficult emotional people or stuff in the recent past, or there were some subconscious issues that were dragging you down over the last couple years. This lunar eclipse puts the end of this baggage in sight. Work on clearing things up, letting go, and moving forward. And If someone doesn't have your best interests at heart, don’t listen to their criticisms, especially around March 25th, and in the next 5 months as Saturn is in retrograde.
Your March Trax:
Since you got shit to do this month, some motivational music is coming your way. Something like Robyn’s 2010 album Body Talk should do the trick, if you’re looking to feed off her upbeat energy while tackling some under-the-surface emotional issues. My Brightest Diamond album This Is My Hand could have the same effect. If you haven’t listened to Some Feelings by Julia Nunes, her 2015 release-- do it. That album is so freakin’ catchy and so freakin’ relatable. Similarly talented, but a little more experimental, Julia Easterlin’s music is worth a listen.
Dates to watch: 8th, 9th
Your events: Isabella, Byoosik @ Middlesex Lounge, March 8th
Stumpf, Giant Peach, Natural Sway, Palm Spring Life @ O'Briens, March 8th
Alosi Den, Crispy Lips, Blues Dream Box, Breakers @ O'Briens, March 9th
Sagittarius
Sagittarius (Ruling Planet: Jupiter; Element: Fire) Sagittarians are crazy fun, and wild. You’re a generous friend, and always try to be straightforward. The Archer is an intellectual, passionate about philosophy and travel. But with this passionate energy, and your constant need for independence, comes a carelessness typical of most fire signs. When honest, you tend to be tactless. When ambitious, you can be impatient and inconsistent. And you are prone to taking things for granted.
What an intuitive month for you! Like, everything, will touch on Pisces in the beginning of the month, so it’s no surprise that you’ll be able to hone in on how others are feeling around this time. While Mercury, the planet of communication, dwells in watery Pisces on the 5th, you should be able to better understand your emotions in situations past and present, and may easily express these emotions. When the planet of love, Venus, shifts into Pisces on the 12th, you’ll seek the same intuitive qualities in any romantic partners, and will yearn to feel supported by your loved ones. With Mars in Sagittarius on the 5th, the planet of action will encourage you to use any spike in mental energy to start something you’re genuinely excited about. This could be a project you’ll be working on for the next year or more, and you won’t want to start it next month. Trust me. Later in the month, the Sun and Mercury cross into fellow fiery Aries. Use the time around the 19th through the 21st creatively— tell stories, make jokes, have fun; this mindset will keep you focused. Saturn turns retrograde on the 25th, though, and you may find yourself feeling sluggish and careless. It’s ok to cut yourself some slack this time. But don’t forget about the first two eclipses of 2016! March 8th, a solar eclipse in Pisces will occur in your home/family sector. If you were considering vacationing, reuniting with and/or building your family, moving, or buying property— do it. The 23rd marks a lunar eclipse in Libra, and if you’ve been taking the time to mull it over, any ideas about your destiny, dreams and place in the world will become unclouded within the next 6 months.
Your March Trax:
With all this Piscean intuition floating around, and the eclipses’ focus on the home, a couple throwback tunes seem in order. One of the most nostalgic albums ever created, Iron & Wine’s Our Endless Numbered Days, couldn’t ever be a bad choice. If you’re looking for something a little more recent, Paradise by Lana del Rey is a sure bet. More recent yet, one of Frankie Cosmos’s 2014 albums, Zentropy, could be just the sentimental bedroom pop to satisfy your empathic little heart this month.
Dates to watch: 10th, 11th
Your events: Harmoos, Echo Courts (NC), Halfsour, Sports Coach @ Out Of The Blue Too, March 10th
Rachel Hael / Save Ends EP release(s) w/ Today Junior, Sam Johnson (from Choke Up) @ O’Brien’s, March 10th
Bent Shapes (record release), Sports, Cuffs @ Great Scott, March 10th
Capricorn
Capricorn (Ruling Planet: Saturn; Element: Earth) Another practical Earth sign, Capricorns are more calculated than most. You are also a natural goal-setter, and tend to get what you want by being sensible, patient, cautious and disciplined. The Seagoat is not a rule-breaker. And, sometimes, all this hard work can make you pessimistic, stubborn, and shy.
With both a solar eclipse and Mercury in Pisces at the beginning of the month, your mental energy will be in full swing. Your capacity for ideas for new plans, projects, and how to share them can grow exponentially starting on the 5th as the planet of communication shifts gears. The eclipse on the 8th will make this energy surge. It might be a good idea to keep tabs on a particularly good idea, and run with it. Using all of this energy could get exhausting, especially with Mars’ position in Sagittarius at this time. Try planning instead of taking action, working on your own for now, and tending to your internal needs first. The planet of love, Venus, also enters Pisces on the 12th, and communication will be most important to you right now, in the ways of romance. Conversation is key. Later, on the 19th, the Sun enters Aries and you, too, will enter a very nurturing time. You can feel supported and supportive. When Mercury joins the Sun in Pisces on the 21st, you’ll be better about remembering how you felt in certain situations, and communicating what you feel. The last lunar eclipse in Libra (for a while, anyway) will occur on the 23rd, and if you’ve been dealing with either failure or success, setbacks or breakthroughs, all that will come to a close in the next 6 months. Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius starts March 25th, and you might have trouble dealing with issues from your past. You can’t ignore them this time. Deal with your baggage, and start a new cycle.
Your March Trax:
Run with the amount of mental energy you’re receiving this month, and match it with some music that’s equally energetic. An old classic, fast-paced album: A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. Equally old, but a little more indie and quick-witted: Dog Problems by The Format. If both of those albums bum you out, a good medium could be found in Gerard Way’s 2014 solo album Hesitant Alien. And for something entirely different, and infinitely more local, try Fucko’s Dealing with the Weird.

Aquarius
Aquarius (Ruling Planet: Uranus; Element: Air) The most loyal of the air signs, Aquarians are known for their ability to make a lot of friends and their wide range of interests. The Water Carrier is the weird but charming, creative, independent type. But your independence can easily read aloof and detached. And like any air sign, you can be particularly inconsistent and unpredictable. Though, of all the air signs, you’re the most set in your ways, partially because of your strong moral compass and humanitarian instincts.
The sign after yours on the zodiac, Pisces, sees a lot of activity this month, and you’ll be seeing a drop in mental energy around the beginning of the month. But slowing down could definitely be good for you this time. You can take your time making decisions, believing in them fully and then fully committing to them. This will be a great, calm mindset to have when the the solar eclipse on the 8th occurs in Pisces, and activates your money $ector. It’s the opportune time to improve your financial situation, and now is the time to take on a new job, or take your hobby to a professional level. The energy of Mars in Sagittarius ought to assist you in this endeavor, and you should take advantage of how well your lil’ Aquarian self can network. Be careful around the 12th, as Venus joins Mercury in Pisces. Yes, you should take your time, enjoy the moment, and absorb the world around you, and physical connection is important to you right now, in the ways of romance. Just don’t overindulge or spend in excess. When the Sun shifts signs, from water to fire, Aries will challenge you, mentally. You’ll enjoy tackling projects, and will connect with others, if they can ~stimulate your mind~. Mercury joining the party in Aries on the 21st will help you share all the ideas that come from this mental surge. The last week of the month involves the second eclipse of the year, and the last lunar eclipse in Libra for a while. This lunar event will settle any insecurities you may have about your ability to expand your horizons. Don’t let Saturn retrograde (starting March 25th, and ending in August) cause you any doubts.
Your March Trax:
Embrace the slow tempo this month by listening to music by Wet-- although their super slow new album Don’t You is only streaming via Spotify at the moment. Alternatively all of Brooklyn band, Leapling’s new album, called Vacant Page, is streaming on Soundcloud. And if you’re into that, why not take your time with dream pop locals, Aüva?

Those Darlins, Adam Schatz, Idle Bloom @ Great Scott, March 15th
Tortoise, Mind Over Mirrors, E @ The Sinclair, March 15th
Pisces
Pisces (Ruling Planet: Neptune; Element: Water) Your head is in the clouds, Pisces, and you have a grand imagination. But this way of thinking can often delve into escapist territory, and you have no problem deluding yourself to avoid harsh realities. You can be a pessimist who blames things on bad luck. And like any other water sign, you’re sensitive. But The Fishes in particular are intuitive to others’ feelings, and, although you often feel misunderstood by most, you have the ability to understand many people from all different walks of life.
Well, Pisces, the Sun, a solar eclipse, Mercury and Venus all occur in your sign this month. It’s a #blessed time of the year for you, and you’ll feel connected to your ideas— so open up and share them around the 5th. Mars in Sagittarius on the same day will spike your sense of ambition, just make sure to use this energy now, not later. Venus, your ruler and the planet of love, crosses into your sign on the 12th. With this planetary position, you’ll basically be feeling like a princess in the realm of love. Wining, dining, close attention and pampering will satisfy Venus this month, and you’ll come off as more attractive. The solar eclipse occurs in Pisces on March 8th, will, perhaps, be the most important happening of the month for you. It marks a time of new beginning. Anything you’re passionate and excited about could be just the opportunity to pounce on. Just make sure you’re always doin’ you. The Sun and Mercury will shift from Pisces into Aries on March 19th and 21st, respectively, and you can feel better about slowing down, now. Take your time with any important decisions, especially financially. The next eclipse of 2016 will be lunar, and will occur in air sign Libra on March 23rd. Like full moons, lunar eclipses signal a conclusion of something. For you, this conclusion may involve wading through some difficult, heavy emotions. Saturn retrograde only a few days later will try to hold up this process and your responsibilities. Instead of stalling out, use the positive energy from this month’s solar eclipse in your sign to make a fresh start.
Your March Trax:
Listen to something that will make you feel good this month. You can’t go wrong with some solid pop music, and something like The Family Jewels by Marina & the Diamonds could be totally suited to your sense of ambition this month. Sucker by Charlie XCX is another pop option. A low-fi, bedroom, Boston-originated pop alternative could IAN’s self-titled album.
